The babies and Tots have a light and airy playroom called tweenies and a separate sleep room.
Your baby will have their own cot and bedding. We have bouncy chairs with mobiles, baby gyms, soft toys, wall mirrors and rattles to stimulate and entertain young babies. We encourage under three-year-olds to develop all the senses through sensory play. We endeavour to maintain your individual baby’s routine with feeding, sleep times and playing times to ensure a consistent approach between home and nursery. The Staff in the room recognise the need for a loving, homely and caring environment for your child and will ensure your child receives everything they need. The older tots will be provided with toys to encourage first steps and bright colourful floor toys to develop their balance and co-ordination. There are large construction toys, activity toys, soft toys, and books. Once your child is steady on their feet, staff will take them out into the garden to play - starting off with just a short time and staying out for longer periods of time as they get older. Your child will also be encouraged to do activities such as painting, sticking, colouring, food sensory play, shredded paper play, etc, but will also be given quiet time for naps and rest. We have a home corner with accessories that will give your child their first opportunity at role play, by making food for the dolls and for other children. Your child will be encouraged to socialise and make friends and gain confidence in talking to others. We provide books, shape sorters, activity toys, jigsaws, construction toys, musical instruments as well as more creative activities such as painting and sticking to help your child to develop their fine motor skills.
